Park your Domain Name.Parking a domain name is pointing it to the already existing IP number of another domain. That way, more than one domain name resolves at one location. For example, you can resolve yourname.com and yourname.org at the same web site. What is a Domain Name?A domain name is a unique Identifier that points to a certain site on the World Wide Web. Each computer on the Internet has a unique numeric Internet Protocol address such as 131.215.3.29. But these numbers are not at all user-friendly, so we give them a mnemonic or a nickname if you like. It is lot easier to remember cricket.co.za than some long-winded number. And as you can see it also gives the user inkling to what the site is about.
Do I need to register a Domain Name?Your company has spent a lot of time, effort and money on promoting your company name and brands. It is therefore sensible to register your name and to protect the branded investment and to give Internet Customers a Domain Name they know. Please take the following points into consideration:
- Only use letters of the alphabet (A-Z), the numbers (0-9) and the hyphen (-).
- Your Domain Name must be one continuous word with NO SPACES (eg. abcshoes or abc-shoes).
If your domain is available proceed with the application form and complete it. We will confirm your registration within 48 hours.
